Final thesis deposit
After formal award approval, and before graduation, send the final approved thesis and RD20 to the Operations Team. This is separate from examination submission with RD15 and from submitting amendments.
Send
- Full-text final approved PDF.
- Completed RD20 Thesis Submission form from Forms directory.
- Required additional materials in an accessible format, listed in the thesis contents.
Contact doctoralcollegeoffice@napier.ac.uk for the delivery process. Confirm any large-file/physical-material arrangements.
Check the final title-page date: §6.8 uses the date the final amended version went to examiners. Ensure the final PDF meets formatting requirements and matches the approved thesis.
Approval and public availability
Different framework passages name RDEB or URDC as final approval authority. Use the Operations Team’s formal confirmation of the approval/deposit stage rather than assuming an examiner’s email or viva result is sufficient. See Completion and graduation and Source differences and clarifications.
The University deposits the thesis in its Research Repository; the framework describes EThOS harvesting. The Repository Team applies necessary redactions to personal/third-party material. Address such issues with supervisors/Library in advance rather than relying on later redaction.
If an embargo is needed, apply before sending the final version. The wiki has not independently checked current EThOS service availability.
